What Rybbit is like
Rybbit is an open-source web and product analytics tool built as a replacement for Google Analytics. It is developed by Tomato.gg LLC, a US company, and released under the AGPL-3.0 licence. You can use the hosted cloud service or run the same software on your own server with Docker.
Rybbit sets no cookies and does not store IP addresses. Visitor IDs are salted daily, so analytics does not need a consent banner, and the cloud version keeps analytics data on Hetzner servers in the EU. Next to the usual dashboard of visitors, sources, pages and locations, it covers custom events, goals, funnels, user journeys, retention, web vitals and error tracking, plus session replay on the Pro plan.
Prices follow monthly traffic, from 100,000 to 50 million events, with Enterprise quotes above that. Standard allows up to 5 websites and 3 team members; Pro removes both limits and keeps data for 5 years instead of 3. Yearly billing costs eight times the monthly price, or 4 months free. There is no free cloud plan, only a 7-day free trial.
