Analytics pricing pages are built to be hard to compare: one vendor counts pageviews, the next counts events, a third counts visits, and the number of websites you can track changes from plan to plan. So we did the comparison ourselves. On 17 October 2026 we checked the pricing page of all 19 tools on our comparison, worked out the monthly price at five traffic levels, and looked at what changes the bill.
All prices below are monthly prices when billed monthly, in US dollars, excluding VAT. Prices published in pounds or euros are converted at the European Central Bank reference rates of 16 October 2026.
The price at five traffic levels
| Traffic | Free options | Typical paid price | Cheapest paid | Most expensive |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 pageviews, 1 website | 6 tools | $14 | Pirsch, $6 | Piwik PRO, $41 |
| 100,000 pageviews, 1 website | 4 tools | $19 | WireBoard, $9 | Piwik PRO, $93 |
| 1 million pageviews, 1 website | 3 tools | $67 | Clicky, $19.99 | Piwik PRO, $445 |
| 100,000 pageviews, 10 websites | 3 tools | $24 | WireBoard, $9 | Piwik PRO, $374 |
| 10 million pageviews, 1 website | 2 tools | $249 | Pirsch, $159 | Matomo, $1,900 |
"Typical" is the median of the paid plans: half the tools cost less, half cost more. Tools that only quote through a sales team are left out of it.
Five things we learned
1. Small sites rarely need to pay
At 10,000 pageviews a month, six tools are free: WireBoard, Clicky, Umami, Cloudflare Web Analytics, PostHog and GoatCounter. The free plans are not the same, though. WireBoard covers 50,000 pageviews on 2 websites but shows only the last 30 days of history. Clicky's free plan is limited per day (3,000 pageviews) and keeps 30 days. Umami's free plan covers one website and keeps 6 months. Cloudflare Web Analytics and GoatCounter stay free at any reasonable traffic but have fewer features.
2. The gap widens as you grow
At 100,000 pageviews the most expensive tool costs about 10 times the cheapest. At 1 million pageviews, it is 22 times: from $19.99 a month for Clicky to $445 for Piwik PRO's Business plan. At 10 million pageviews Matomo Cloud costs $1,900 a month, twelve times Pirsch's $159. Choosing the right tool early matters more than any discount.
3. The number of websites can double the bill
Some tools include many websites in every plan: WireBoard includes 50 from its $9 plan, Fathom 50 or more, Pirsch's Standard plan 50, and Seline counts all your sites against one shared limit. Others charge for more sites. At 100,000 pageviews, Plausible costs $19 a month for one website, $29 for up to 3 and $39 for up to 10. Rybbit goes from $19 to $39 above 5 websites. TWIPLA and Statcounter bill every website separately, so ten small sites can cost ten times as much as one.
4. Not every vendor counts pageviews
What you are billed for changes from tool to tool:
- Pageviews: WireBoard, Plausible, Fathom, Pirsch, Simple Analytics and GoSquared. Most of them add your custom events to the same count.
- Events: Umami, Rybbit, Seline, Swetrix and PostHog. A pageview is one event, and so is every button click you track.
- Hits and actions: Matomo counts hits (pageviews, events, downloads, outlinks) and Piwik PRO counts actions, which include consent banner loads.
- Sessions: Statcounter counts visits, so a visitor who reads five pages counts once.
- Daily pageviews: Clicky caps each day, not each month.
If you track many custom events, leave room in your plan: on most tools they come out of the same allowance as your pageviews.
5. Paying yearly saves up to a third
Most vendors give two months free (about 17% off) on yearly billing: WireBoard, Matomo, Plausible, Fathom, Pirsch, Simple Analytics, Seline and Swetrix. Clicky and Rybbit go further, with 33% off. TWIPLA gives 20% and Statcounter 10%. Umami, PostHog and Piwik PRO publish no yearly discount.
Prices move
Plans change more often than vendors announce. While checking prices this year we found that UserMaven stopped publishing prices, Simple Analytics withdrew its Team plan, Rybbit and Piwik PRO ended their free cloud plans, Statcounter moved to billing by visits, and Fathom started including more websites in its larger plans. We keep a dated list of price changes on the comparison page.
How to estimate your own cost
- Find your monthly pageviews in your current analytics, and add the custom events you track if you use them.
- Count the websites you want to track, including staging or client sites.
- Add about 30% for growth, so you are not forced into the next tier in three months.
- Put those numbers into the price calculator, which ranks every tool for your traffic.
